Naples, Florida is a perfect destination for a long weekend getaway or a family vacation with the whole crew. Located on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Naples is a charming coastal town full of history and things to do on the coast. One of our Rolling Nomads spent a weekend in Naples last January – let’s recap some of the highlights of their trip.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

We spent our beach days mainly at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. This State Park not only has white sand beaches, but it also has nature trails you can walk/bike down and hopefully catch some wildlife. Note that it is $6 per vehicle to enter the State Park.

5th Avenue South

You can’t go wrong with a night on 5th Avenue South during your trip to Naples! After an early afternoon at the beach, head down to 5th Avenue to check out all the unique shops. Check out all the local restaurants on the strip, and then head back to your favorite once you are done shopping to wrap up your evening! A couple of our favorites are Osteria Tulia for Italian and Mr. Big Fish for fresh seafood and a more casual atmosphere.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is great for an early morning stroll (go before it gets too hot!) along the boardwalk. Watch for wildlife on your walk around the wetlands and check out the observation tower if you have enough time! Admission is generally around $15 for the sanctuary.

Everglades National Park

If you are looking for more of a day trip from Naples, check out Everglades National Park! We did the airboat tour through the Everglades, and it was unlike anything we had done before. You are almost sure to see alligators and/or crocodiles on your trip, along with lots of birds, and other wildlife species.

A Morning at the Pickleball Courts

One of our favorite things we did every morning was heading out to play pickleball before the sun got super hot! We played on Fleischmann Park courts, which was the perfect location for us!

A Bite to Eat

Narrative Coffee Roasters is a local favorite, known for its artisanal brews and cozy atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to relax and plan your next move.

For lunch, head to The Dock for waterfront dining with a view, or try the laid-back vibe at First Watch, known for its delicious brunch options.

Our dinner favorites on 5th Avenue South are Osteria Tulia for Italian and Mr. Big Fish for fresh seafood and a more casual atmosphere.
