Cincinnati, USA, July 2, 2024 – Remote Vans, a leading, class B, RV manufacturer is proud to officially unveil its patented Vanhalla™ 90 degree swing, sleeper seat.

Over a year of Research and Development went into the adventure van industry’s first, 90-degree, swing seat. This FMVSS compliant, 2-person seat offers 4 distinct positions: Travel, Sunset, Kickback and Rest. Available in all Remote Vans adventure vans, the Vanhalla™ seat is a futuristic and innovative design that creates an expansive, comfortable, living area that provides flexibility and more efficient use of space.  Whether it be for work, or cooking a family meal, the seat allows for uninterrupted movement from front to rear of the van.

The Vanhalla™ seat is the van industry’s very first, 90-degree, swing seat. Developed by Remote Vans, this patented design offers even more flexibility for Remote Vans Series owners. Over a year of R&D went into creating a swing seat for use in a sprinter van. The Vanhalla™ seat addresses common pain points expressed by van owners and the design features were heavily influenced by the needs of those who enjoy working remotely whilst spending time in their van.

“Our Vanhalla™ Seat is the absolute pinnacle of van engineering. Our team has achieved what has been sought after in the van industry for years; a true 90-degree rotating seat that utilizes the same footprint in either configuration. It is the most versatile seat ever created, with multiple positions to suit any time of day or living requirement, whether it be working, relaxing, cooking,  or sleeping. We designed the seat to be the most efficient use of space, versatile and functional to meet the desires of our wide range of customers, and most important of all, ensuring it was the most comfortable seat in the industry. Reaction to the seat has been phenomenal and we’re thrilled about it.” – Daryn Hillhouse, COO, Remote Vans.

Fully tested, the 2-person swing, sleeper seat complies with all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and regulations, and meets all RVIA requirements. It sits upright, reclines at a 45 degree angle, swings (rotates) 90-degrees to face the sliding door and folds flat to form a comfortable sleeping spot. There is also a foot rest for extra comfort.

4 Seating Positions

Thanks to a unique, swing design, the Vanhalla™ seat offers our van owners the choice of 4 different seating positions. In the travel position, the seat faces towards the driver’s seat and allows for 2 people to travel seated side-by-side with seatbelts. Combined with the bamboo work table, this is also a comfortable position for getting a bit of work done, especially if you mount a second screen using the L-track underneath the overhead storage shelf. The seat can also recline to the kickback position, at a 45 degree angle.

In sunset position, the seat swings and rotates 90 degrees to face the sliding door. This means that not only can you relax and stare at a beautiful view after a long day’s drive, but you can enjoy extra room when cooking and create a more communal space at dinner time.

And when it’s time to head to bed, the Vanhalla™ swing seat folds fully-flat to form a comfortable bed, which can combine with the driver’s seat for extra sleeping space. Made from high-quality, durable fabrics, the seat is long-lasting and easy to keep clean.

Market Reaction

The Vanhalla™ Seat was debuted alongside the 2024 adventure vans at the Portland Metro RV dealer show, where feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The public got another look at the seat at the Overland Expo: West show in Flagstaff, Arizona. You can watch an in-depth tour of our Aegis Series at the show where Daryn gives a guided walkthrough of the Vanhalla™ Seat.

Exclusive to Remote Vans, the Vanhalla™ Seat is available in the Aegis™, Oasis® and Friday® Series adventure vans. The seat is not sold separately. Visit one of our dealership partners to view our adventure vans, as well as the Vanhalla™ Seat in person.

Onwards,

The Remote Vans Team
