Inside the Conversation That Explains Where Remote Vans Is Headed
We just released a full, unfiltered conversation between our CEO, Daryn Hillhouse, and our new President, Andrew Cooley, co-founder of Storyteller Overland. And if you’re expecting the polished version of this story, this video isn’t it. We wanted to show the real one.
Two competitors, one small industry
The adventure van world is smaller than people realize. Everyone knows everyone. Everyone watches everyone’s builds, everyone’s launches, everyone’s moves. For years, Daryn and Andrew were on opposite sides of that world, building competing products and, if we’re being honest, sizing each other up the way competitors do.
In the interview, they talk openly about what that competition actually felt like, what surprised them about each other once they finally sat down together, and the specific moment they realized they’d rather build something as a team than keep competing from separate corners.

What’s actually broken in this industry, and what we’re doing about it
Past the personal story, the conversation gets into the state of the adventure van industry right now, where it’s falling short of what buyers deserve, and what Remote Vans plans to do differently over the next five years. This part of the conversation is where things get specific: product, dealer support, and where we believe the market is headed.

We also released a solo interview with Andrew earlier in the month. Andrew shares about his family’s roots in the RV industry and his philosophy on building adventure vans.
