Role Overview:
As a Financial Controller with Remote Vans you will be capable of managing finance and accounting responsibilities, providing information primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist the Remote Vans Executive Team in making educated economic decisions for the company. You will also advise on manufacturing efficiencies and identify issues, proactively create solutions and enact suitable training programs.
Previous manufacturing accounting, minimum of three (3) years’ experience, is essential. Experience in automotive or manufacturing is highly preferred.
General Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable:
- Process and manage payments on all Dealer Partner Contracts.
- Generate weekly billing reports and lead billing discussions with Executive Team
- Automate AR processes where possible
- Manage collections and generate AR statements
Accounts Payable:
- Enter and validate vendor invoices
- Upload invoices into Netsuite and generate weekly payables reports
- Collaborate with Production Manager, Parts Manager on inventory management
- Onboard subcontractors
- Manage and coordinate company payroll.
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Manage all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Prepare and monitor financial plans, analyze data, and provide insights to support strategic goals.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions to inform business decisions.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate & timely financial statements.
- Manage sales tax vendors to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Stays abreast of tax code revisions and advises Remote Vans regarding any operational adjustments needed to accommodate revisions
- Support & provide financial models and presentations as needed.
- Ensure all accounting is performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting
- Analyzes and supervises the preparation of all information for the CPA in order to minimize audit or review costs Principles (GAAP)
Accounting Operations
- Lead on Inventory Management System set up.
- Training of key personnel on inventory control.
- Monitor and control part inventory levels.
- Interprets the financial statement and the daily operating control (DOC) regularly and informs the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of developing trends; Participates in the preparation of short and long term financial forecasts for the Executive Team.
- Reports the financial condition of Remote Vans regularly and accurately; provides sales and expense analyses summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to monthly and annual Forecasts.
- Maintain & improve the timeliness, accuracy and efficiency of all financials.
- Maintain relevant S.O.P.s ensuring efficient, repeatable, standardized processes are followed.
Financial Controls & Policies
- Develop and implement financial controls and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices
- Develop and implement processes to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Ensures that all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection and co-op advertising are current and accurate
Business Partnership
- Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.
- Oversees all office personnel, ensuring proper accounting procedures and maintaining
- accurate records
- Work closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop and implement business strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Work with senior management to develop business strategies that drive growth and profitability, and build relationships with external financial professionals.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Accounting or Business Administration; CPA highly desirable.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Manufacturing Industry / accounting operations, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Strong computer skills, including experience with accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and payroll systems (Gusto).
- Working knowledge of inventory & inventory management
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with suppliers, vendors, and staff
- Able to deal with confidential information appropriately
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
- Highly professional and dependable
